The essence of integral education is transformation; to be a better human being. Education is not an art of acquiring knowledge but learning a skill to lead life and forming one’s personality. Personal empowerment involves developing self-awareness, an understanding of your strength’s and weaknesses’ knowing your own limitation is key to personal empowerment.
Being self-empowered is to realize that our empowerment resides within each one of us. We are spiritual beings by nature. In fact, there is divinity within each human that connects us with the divine and with all the rest of humanity.
At a basic level, the term empowerment simply means becoming powerful. Building personal empowerment involves reflecting on our personal values, skills and goals and being prepared to adjust our behavior in order to achieve our goals. As Jim Rohn puts it “The major key to your better future is you”
Personal empowerment also means being aware that other people have their own set of values and goals which may differ to ours.
Empowerment is discovering that the spiritual me is creative by nature and that I can develop complete mastery over my physical circumstances.
Jesus Christ was one of the greatest teachers of these principles. All most all his teachings helped those around him discover that they were spiritual in nature, and are never victims of circumstance, unless they choose to be. He helped awaken thousands, and empowered many others. He taught that forgiveness is necessary to heal the wounded. He taught radical technique for self-mastery by turning the other cheek and going the extra mile.
I believe my role as an educator is to guide and nurture the next generation to establish skills to achieve health, respect, prosperity and fulfillments. I also believe that having quality, inspirational and passionate teachers is essential to a School’s success. To borrow John Hattie’s words, “Teachers should build classroom climates where errors are welcome, students engagement is the norm, questioning is high and students gain reputations as effective learners.”
I thank the ardent and hardworking staff members encouraging parents amazing students and well-wishers for their exquisite contribution to the institution.
